Coffee Roastery Employment Contract Generator

This Employment Contract is between the Employer, a specialty coffee roastery that sources, roasts, and distributes single-origin and blended coffees, and the Employee. The roastery operates a production facility with commercial drum roasters, a quality control lab, and may include a retail or training space. Staff roles span roasting, green coffee procurement, quality grading, packaging, and wholesale account management.

The Employee is engaged permanently from the Start Date under the employment laws applicable to the jurisdiction of the roastery's registered business address. This contract is the definitive statement of the employment terms and supersedes all prior correspondence.

Coffee roasting involves operating machinery at temperatures exceeding 200 degrees Celsius, handling raw agricultural commodities, and working in environments with elevated noise and particulate levels. The Employee acknowledges these occupational conditions as inherent to the role.

The probationary period is three months. For roasters, assessment focuses on profile development accuracy, first and second crack identification, colour consistency across batches, and safe operation of the roasting drum and cooling tray. For non-production roles, evaluation covers green coffee sourcing communication, cupping skills, or wholesale client relationship management.

Statutory notice applies during probation. A mid-point review will address roast profile adherence to target Agtron scores, waste and shrinkage rates, and the Employee's ability to maintain production schedules during peak wholesale demand periods.

Permanent status is confirmed after successful probation. Extension may occur if the Employee requires additional supervised time on the roasting equipment or has not completed the Employer's internal Q-grading training module.
