Farm Employment Contract Generator

This Employment Contract is between the Employer, a farm producing crops, livestock, dairy, or mixed agricultural products, and the Employee. The farm operation encompasses fieldwork, animal husbandry, machinery operation, and potentially direct sales through farm shops or farmers markets, requiring versatile workers who can adapt to seasonal demands and variable weather conditions.

Employment is permanent from the Start Date under the employment laws of the applicable jurisdiction. This contract constitutes the full agreement. Agricultural employment has sector-specific regulations around working time, housing, and minimum pay that this contract complies with.

Farm work is physically demanding and involves operating tractors, combines, and PTO-driven machinery, handling livestock, working in all weather conditions, and exposure to dust, chemicals, and biological hazards. The Employee accepts these conditions and maintains any required machinery operation certifications and pesticide handling qualifications.

Probation runs for three months. The Employer evaluates the Employee's competence in their primary duties (livestock handling, tractor operation, crop husbandry, milking, or general farm maintenance), safety awareness around machinery and animals, physical stamina for sustained outdoor work, and willingness to take on varied tasks as the farm's seasonal calendar demands.

Statutory notice applies during probation. A review at six weeks covers the Employee's ability to work independently on routine tasks, livestock welfare observations, machinery maintenance discipline, and integration with the existing farm team.

Permanent employment follows successful probation. Extension may apply if the Employee has not yet experienced a full seasonal cycle (planting through harvest, or calving through weaning) or requires additional machinery certification.
