Thrift Store Employment Contract Generator

This Employment Contract is agreed between the Employer, a thrift store selling donated and pre-owned clothing, furniture, household goods, and vintage items from its retail premises, and the Employee. The store may operate as a charity shop or independent resale business, requiring staff who can sort, price, and display donated inventory while providing a welcoming shopping experience.

The Employee is engaged permanently from the Start Date under the employment laws of the relevant jurisdiction. This agreement constitutes the entire employment relationship between the parties.

Thrift store operations involve processing high volumes of donated goods of varying quality, sorting items into sellable, recyclable, and waste categories, and managing a retail floor that changes daily. The Employee accepts the physical nature of the work including lifting, sorting, and arranging furniture and clothing racks.

Probation lasts three months. The Employer evaluates the Employee's ability to assess donated items for resale value, pricing accuracy relative to market rates, visual merchandising skills for creating appealing floor displays from unpredictable stock, and customer service approach in a community-focused retail environment.

Statutory notice applies during probation. A review at six weeks will cover the Employee's speed in processing incoming donations, their eye for identifying higher-value vintage or designer items, and their coordination with volunteers if the store uses volunteer support.

Permanent employment follows successful probation. Extension may be offered if the Employee has not yet been evaluated during a major stock intake period such as post-Christmas or spring cleaning donation surges.
