A three-month probation period applies. The Employer evaluates the Employee's grounds maintenance quality, guest service and check-in competence, ability to manage pitch and cabin bookings, and adherence to campfire safety, waste management, and environmental conservation protocols.
Statutory notice applies during probation. A review at six weeks covers the Employee's groundskeeping output, guest feedback scores, reliability in adverse weather conditions, and competence with any specialist equipment such as mowers, utility vehicles, or water treatment systems.
Permanent employment follows satisfactory probation. Extension may occur if the Employee's start date fell outside peak season and a high-occupancy evaluation period is still needed.
Duties, Role, and Exclusivity
The Employee maintains campground facilities, processes guest arrivals, manages pitch assignments, performs maintenance on amenity buildings and utility connections, and may lead outdoor activities. Competing campground or outdoor hospitality employment requires written consent.
Remuneration, Benefits, and Pay
Salary is paid monthly in arrears. On-site accommodation may be provided, with its value treated per statutory accommodation offset rules. Staff receive free use of campground facilities during off-duty hours.
Working Time, Location, and Hours
The campground may operate from dawn to late evening during peak season. The Employee works from the campground premises. Weekend and holiday shifts are standard, as these represent the busiest booking periods.
