Parties and Contract Type

Wrenfield Manor, a licensed wedding and events venue accommodating ceremonies, receptions, and overnight guest stays, enters into this Employment Contract with the Employee named in Schedule 1. The venue employs event coordinators, hospitality staff, grounds maintenance workers, and banqueting team members who deliver memorable occasions for couples and their guests.

Employment commences on a permanent basis from the Start Date and is governed by applicable employment legislation. This contract supersedes all prior agreements between the parties. The venue holds a premises licence for the sale of alcohol and the conduct of civil ceremonies, and the Employee agrees to operate within the conditions of those licences at all times.

Wedding venue work follows a seasonal rhythm with peak demand from spring through autumn, concentrated on weekends and bank holidays. The Employee accepts that long event days, physical setup and breakdown work, and maintaining composure while managing high-emotion occasions are fundamental requirements. Attention to detail in table settings, floral arrangements, and room configurations directly affects client satisfaction and the venue's reputation.

Term, Probation, and Probation Review

A three-month probationary period applies from the Start Date. The Employer evaluates the Employee's ability to coordinate event logistics on the day, manage guest expectations with warmth and professionalism, execute room setups to precise client specifications, and work collaboratively with external suppliers including caterers, florists, photographers, and entertainment providers.

Either party may terminate during probation with statutory notice. A structured review at six weeks addresses the Employee's event day performance under pressure, attention to detail in venue presentation, communication with couples during the planning process, and familiarity with the venue's health and safety procedures including fire evacuation routes and first aid provisions.

Permanent employment follows successful probation. Extension may apply where the Employee has not yet worked through a peak wedding season or requires further experience managing large-scale events, overnight guest coordination, or supplier contract negotiations.

Duties, Role, and Exclusivity

The Employee coordinates wedding day logistics, sets up and breaks down event spaces, liaises with couples and suppliers, and ensures guest satisfaction throughout each occasion. Working for a competing venue or events business without the Employer's written consent is not permitted.

Remuneration, Benefits, and Pay

Gross salary is paid monthly in arrears. Tips and gratuities from wedding parties are distributed according to the venue's published policy. Time-off-in-lieu or overtime payments apply for event days exceeding the Employee's standard contracted hours.

Working Time, Location, and Hours

Working patterns are driven by the event calendar, with most weddings falling on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The primary workplace is the venue grounds and buildings, with occasional attendance at wedding fairs or bridal exhibitions to represent the venue.

Why wedding venue businesses need a employment contract

Wedding Venue employees often handle sensitive information, operate specialised equipment, or interact directly with customers, making role-specific employment contracts essential. A wedding venue employment contract must address industry-standard working patterns, health and safety obligations, and any required certifications or training. Restrictive covenants like non-compete and non-solicitation clauses need to be calibrated to wedding venue market norms to be enforceable.
