Cafe Employment Contract Generator

This Employment Contract is made between the Employer, a cafe serving hot and cold beverages, light meals, and baked goods from its retail premises, and the Employee. The cafe provides a daytime-focused dining and social space, requiring staff who combine barista skills with food preparation, table service, and a welcoming approach to regular customers.

The Employee begins permanent employment from the Start Date. The contract operates under the employment legislation of the Employer's jurisdiction and is the complete statement of the employment terms. Previous communications regarding the role do not override this document.

Cafe work involves operating espresso machines, heating and plating food items, managing a till during busy periods, and maintaining a clean, inviting environment for customers who often use the space for extended stays. The Employee accepts these requirements as core to the position.

Probation is three months from the Start Date. The Employer evaluates the Employee's barista technique, food preparation speed and presentation, customer rapport (particularly with regular patrons), and compliance with health and safety standards including allergen disclosure for all menu items.

Either party can end employment during probation with statutory notice. A formal review at the six-week mark will cover coffee quality consistency, the Employee's ability to handle the morning rush without sacrificing service warmth, and their familiarity with the full food and drinks menu.

Successful completion of probation confirms permanent employment. Extension may be offered if the Employee requires additional barista training or has not been assessed during a holiday-period peak.
