Parties and Contract Type
This Employment Contract is between the Employer, operating a juice bar specializing in cold-pressed juices, smoothies, and health-focused beverages from its retail premises, and the Employee identified below. The business requires team members who can prepare fresh produce-based drinks, manage ingredient inventory, and deliver informed recommendations to health-conscious customers.
The Employee is engaged permanently from the Start Date listed in Schedule 1. This contract is governed by applicable employment law in the Employer's jurisdiction and replaces all prior discussions, offer documents, or informal arrangements relating to the Employee's role at the juice bar.
Juice bar operations involve handling fresh produce daily, operating commercial blending and pressing equipment, and maintaining strict cleanliness standards to prevent cross-contamination. The Employee accepts these conditions as integral to the position.
Term, Probation, and Probation Review
A three-month probationary period commences on the Start Date. The Employer will evaluate the Employee's proficiency in juice and smoothie preparation, knowledge of ingredient nutritional profiles, allergen awareness (particularly around nuts, dairy alternatives, and bee pollen), and customer engagement skills.
Statutory notice applies during probation for either party. A mid-probation review will cover recipe execution accuracy, produce waste management, upselling of add-ons such as protein powder and supplements, and adherence to health and safety protocols around blade equipment.
Permanent employment is confirmed after satisfactory probation completion. Extension of up to three months may be offered in writing if the Employee requires additional training on menu items or commercial juicing machinery.
Duties, Role, and Exclusivity
Responsibilities include preparing juices and smoothies to specification, restocking fresh produce, cleaning extraction equipment, and advising customers on nutritional content. The Employee shall not operate or invest in a competing juice or smoothie business without consent.
Remuneration, Benefits, and Pay
Monthly salary is paid in arrears at the agreed gross rate. A complimentary daily juice or smoothie is provided during shifts. Performance-based bonuses may be awarded during high-volume summer months at the Employer's discretion.
Working Time, Location, and Hours
The juice bar operates from early morning through to evening, with shift patterns assigned weekly. The Employee's normal workplace is the retail premises, with potential involvement in pop-up stands at fitness events or farmers markets.

Why juice bar businesses need a employment contract
Juice Bar employees often handle sensitive information, operate specialised equipment, or interact directly with customers, making role-specific employment contracts essential. A juice bar employment contract must address industry-standard working patterns, health and safety obligations, and any required certifications or training. Restrictive covenants like non-compete and non-solicitation clauses need to be calibrated to juice bar market norms to be enforceable.
The global juice bar market is projected to exceed $14 billion by 2027.
